How it works

  1. 01

    Upload a photo or PDF

Take a photo of your letter with your phone, or upload a PDF. Make sure the text is sharp and straight in the shot.

  2. 02

    We read it

We identify what kind of letter it is and who sent it, and extract the amount, the date, the reference number and the deadline.

  3. 03

    You read what it says

In plain language: what kind of letter it is, from whom, the amount, the deadline, what you can do, and whether you can handle it yourself or should get help.

Green, amber or red

Every letter gets a status, so you can see at a glance whether this is something you can handle yourself.

Green

A standard matter with a clear amount and an obvious next step. You can probably handle this yourself.

Amber

Deadlines are running or rules apply that need attention. Read carefully and watch the dates.

Red

A legally or fiscally complex matter. Engage a gestor or a lawyer; we explain why.

We know who is writing

Spanish post comes from dozens of authorities, and different ones per region. We recognise them and tell you which one to deal with.

It differs by region

In Alicante, SUMA collects for nearly every municipality; in Málaga the Patronato does; the Canary Islands have their own tax regime; and in Almería much of the post concerns building permits from the 2000s.

Frequently asked questions

Can ClaroSpain understand every Spanish letter?

ClaroSpain recognises the most common kinds of official post from Spain: tax assessments, traffic fines, municipal charges, seizure orders, social security notifications and more. For unusual letters we say what we do and do not recognise, and when professional help is wise.

Can I upload a photo of a letter?

Yes. Take a photo with your phone and upload it. Make sure there is enough light and the shot is sharp and straight.

Can I upload several letters at once?

Yes. Select them all at once or drag them into the box together. They are read one by one and you see per letter whether it succeeded. Each letter costs one credit.

Do you keep related letters together?

Yes. Letters from the same authority go together into one case file, with an overview of what is running, what is still to come and what to watch for. The same letter uploaded twice only counts once.

Does it work with a PDF too?

Yes. That is handy when you received the letter digitally through DEHú, the Spanish government notification system, or by email.

Is ClaroSpain a gestor?

No. ClaroSpain does not replace a gestor. We explain what your letter means and which steps are possible. For complex matters we recommend a gestor or a lawyer.
